Who Am I?

Hey everyone! Welcome to my blog! If you are reading this, I am so glad that you are here :)
My name's Sydney, I am from CT, and I just finished up my Sophomore year at Fairfield U #GoStags ! I am a pre-med student majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience.
My passion for health and fitness began longggg ago. As a kid, I grew up playing sports including from soccer, horseback riding, softball, tennis, cross country, sailing, and volleyball (which I played all through high school and was going to continue in college, but that's a story for another day) to name a few.
However, I became very interested in nutrition and working out when I was a Sophomore in high school. This was my first year in boarding school and I used this as an opportunity to establish who I wanted to be and what I was interested in. Though I have been a vegetarian since the age of 9, I made the commitment to become vegan. While this transition was not hard for me because I barely ate dairy to begin with, I did have to learn more about vegan nutrition, especially being an athlete. At this point, I also started to lift. Although I belonged to a gym before this, I never left the cardio area because I was wayyyy too intimidated by the male dominated weight lifting areas. But one of the perks about going to an all girls school is that you never have to worry about this. After practice or before class in the morning, I would head to the gym to do cardio and train with weights. This gave me the confidence to start lifting almost every day when I began college.
The gym at Fairfield U is probably my favorite place on campus and I am so so so happy that I stopped being intimidated by weights and all of the guys in the weight room. In reality, no one cares what you are doing. During the summer and on breaks I also belong to a gym that I ADORE and I cannot wait until they open back up soon (thx corona).
If you have gotten this far, thank you for reading <3. That is just a little bit about me and how I got into health and fitness!
